3G network will be shut down in phases across Malaysia and target to be completed by December 2021.

The 4G network will be further expanded and improved to provide coverage in all areas.

With the current rapid technological advancement, we will continue to strive to develop 5G networks in line with the national digitalisation plan.

The Targets

Jalinan Digital Negara (JENDELA) will be the national digital communication enhancement platform under the 12th Malaysia Plan (2021–2025).
JENDELA will be implemented in 2 phases.

Phase 1

Phase 1

Increased 4G coverage from 91.8% to 96.9%	Increased mobile broadband speed from 25 Mbps to 35 Mbps
83% premises nationwide will have access to gigabit speed of fixed broadband	3G Sunset, upgrade of 4G and fiberisation

Phase 2

Phase 2

The adoption of 5G will begin after the 4G platform is strengthened in line with the 12th Malaysian Plan (12MP) to enhance digital connectivity nationwide.
